TEACHER - SHAYKH DR. SHAHRUL HUSSAIN
Dr. Shahrul Hussain is the Director & Head of Research at Ibn Rushd Centre of Excellence for Islamic Research. He is also visiting lecturer at Birmingham City University, School of Law
Dr Shahrul Hussain is a graduate of a traditional private Islamic seminary and completed the Dars-e-Nizami course in 1997. After graduating from the Seminary, he won a full scholarship to study at the prestigious University of Al-Azhar, and in 2001 he graduated from the Faculty of Islamic Jurisprudence and Law. In 2009, he completed his PhD at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland.
During his career Shahrul Hussain has held many posts in the field of education. He is very active in the field of Dawah and Islamic studies and more importantly research in the field of Islamic studies. His primary research focus is applied jurisprudence, Islamic legal theories and contemporary jurisprudence. He also has a keen interest in Hadith studies and Qur’anic studies.
