Flash Floods Devastate Pakistan
Since 15th August, heavy monsoon rains in the hilly terrains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have triggered devastating flash floods across multiple districts. More than 600 lives have been lost and thousands of families displaced. Entire communities remain cut off, with many left without food, clean water or shelter. Ongoing rains threaten to worsen the crisis, pushing those already living in poverty into even greater hardship.
The Impact
Entire villages and homes have been swept away. Roads are impassable, families are stranded without shelter or basic supplies, and remote communities like Bayshonai Kalay are completely cut off. Pakistan is listed as the most vulnerable on the Global Climate Risk Index, and a population in which a quarter already live in extreme poverty or are undernourished is now suffering even more devastating impacts of climate change.
