ABOUT KHALILA LISTER
Khalila Lister is an award-winning public speaking coach, TEDx speaker, and curator, and the founder and CEO of Power of Voice Academy - the world’s first public speaking academy for Muslim women and diverse voices. A former performer, radio host, and actress, Khalila embraced Islam in 2007 and navigated her journey from silence to vocal empowerment. In 2020, as a single mother of four, she launched Power of Voice Academy, coaching thousands worldwide and launching programmes like Stage School, which has trained over 10,000 individuals to speak confidently on platforms including TEDx, podcasts, and global stages.
Her impact has earned her a spot in Forbes’ Top 50 Women CEOs, recognition as Trailblazer of the Year by Next Level, inclusion among the Top 50 Most Influential Muslims in Europe, and the She Awards’ Glass Ceiling Breaker honour. As a licensed curator of TEDx Bethnal Green Road, Khalila not only coaches speakers but hosts transformative events that uplift underrepresented voices. Passionate about empowering individuals to speak unapologetically, she believes that “your voice is needed in this world,” and continues to inspire change with clarity, confidence, and conviction.
