Nepal Flash Flood Emergency

Since 26 August 2026, catastrophic flash floods and landslides have devastated communities across northern Nepal, affecting around 93,000 people. More than 500 people have lost their lives, nearly 1,000 remain missing, and 10,000 households require immediate assistance. Over 17,000 children urgently need support as homes, roads, bridges, schools and health facilities have been destroyed or damaged, leaving communities cut off and families in urgent need of food, clean water, shelter and medical aid.

Islamic Help is preparing to respond through its local partner, Tayyab Trust, to support families and communities affected by the Nepal emergency.

We are preparing to support families affected by Nepal’s catastrophic flash floods with emergency food, hot meals, medical aid, shelter and essential clothing. Working through our local partner, Tayyab Trust, our response will focus on reaching vulnerable communities with practical, lifesaving assistance as access becomes available.

As needs continue to evolve, we are assessing conditions on the ground to ensure aid reaches affected families quickly and responsibly. Every intervention will prioritise urgent needs, dignity and accountability, helping communities survive the immediate emergency and begin the difficult path towards recovery.
