Bangladesh Model Village

Islamic Help have a new project currently underway, on building a model village for the victims of Cyclone Sidr. The land has already been purchased for approximately £25,000.

The model village will facilitate 200 homes, each house consisting of 2 rooms, a kitchen, toilet and a veranda. A school will be built as well as a mosque. The school will cater for up to 300 children and orphans and the mosque will accommodate up to 200 people and have an Imam appointed to run the mosque. And finally a free medical centre hired with its own medical officer, medical assistant and nurse and fully equipped with essential first aid equipment. The medical centre will also include an ambulance for emergencies.

The model village is aimed at providing provisions for orphans, widows, disabled, elderly and families without bread winners.
